Snow again but not enough

It is snowing again. The trees and the grass are all covered with snow. I see white everywhere. The road conditions are not good my mom said. I asked if she thought school would be closed tomorrow and she said I doubt it.  There isn't enough snow for the school to be closed. We had a few snow days last year so I can't believe we have not had even one yet this year.I like snow now that I am skiing.  If the temperature is too cold though we might not be able to go tomorrow like we have planned.

Cars

I read the book who was Henry Ford? I liked it a lot. I have a big interest in cars. I like to learn as much as I can about them. I like reading about Henry Ford because he is from Michigan and this is where he started his life in the auto industry. I like reading about Henry Ford and going to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield village. This is a picture from The Henry Ford Museum.

Henry Ford Literary Essay

The book who was Henry Ford is a nonfiction book.  It tells the life of Henry Ford and the empire he built. Henry Ford was born in Dearborn Michigan.  When Henry Ford was a young boy he would like to take apart watches to see how they worked. Henry lived his life on a farm. Then he started taking apart his brother and sisters toys to see how they work.  This was the beginning of how he became an inventor. Henry married Clara Bryant. They had only one child named Edsel. Edsel and his dad didn't always agree. Henry Ford's first car was the Quadricycle. He ended up opening his own company named Ford Motor Company. Ford built the Model T which became the most popular car in the world. Henry Ford made a factory and was the first automobile maker to use an assembly line.  He could mass produce vehicles so most people could afford them. Henry Ford did well in his business because he paid his employees well. He also treated them. Henry Ford building Museum to preserve items from American history. Henry Ford son died of stomach cancer and Henry felt very bad for how their relationship was. Henry Ford at several strokes and ended up dying from a stroke.Henry Ford II became the president of Ford Motor Company. Ford Motor Company is still a strong company today. This is because of Henry Ford's passion and business skills. I respect Henry Ford for everything he has done.

Stripe second level Goldbelt

Yesterday in karate my brother and I got our two stripes second level Goldbelt. We had to test for this. We both passed an earned our stripe. Our friend Josh wasn't there so he will have to do it at the nextkarate session.  After this we will earn our purple belt.  Karate takes a lot of discipline and practice.here is a picture of me yesterday after I got my other stripe.

Gold Medals

My cousin Evan competes 14 gymnastics. He wins metals all the time. He is really good.  He has to practice a lot every day after school he is at the gym. When they have a competition it is all day long.  My cousin competed again last week and one the cold for all-around best gymnast for the state in his class.  He competed last weekend in Novi, I could not go because I was at a friends birthday party.  I am sorry that I could not see him but I am very proud of him. here is a picture of him with my grandpa.

Pistons Academy

I went to Franklin athletic club today. I played basketball with a group of people. We are going to play every Sunday at Franklin cloud with the Pistons Academy coach.  It was fun because we got to play game called lightning.  We shot baskets and if we missed we had to run a lap.  The second shot I made it!  I was with my brother and a couple other friends and some kids I didn't know.  I'm looking forward to next Sunday to do it again.

Auto show solar car

I went to the auto show and there was solar cars. They were really cool! The U of M engineering school made it. I talked to the students and they told me all about it. I loved that it was blue and gold. It has the top of all solar panels. It would save a lot of money to not have to buy gas and would be better for the environment. 

Auto show

I went to the auto show on Monday night. It was at Cobo Hall. Cobo Hall is in downtown Detroit. I liked seeing the Mercedes vehicles. I got to go inside of a smart car. It is cool. It is very small. It looks like a toy car!  Here is a picture of me in a smart car.

Moms birthday

Today's my moms birthday. My aunt Kim came over and bought a cake. My mom said she wishes that we were on vacation for her birthday.  She is happy because we booked a trip to go to Florida during the February break. We are going to go to Universal Studios. We are going to stay at the Hard Rock Cafe hotel.  I can't wait to see the Harry Potter exhibit it is supposed to be very cool.

Sugar essay

Sugar is 10 years old. She lives on the river road sugar plantation. She works on the plantation picking and harvesting sugar. She hates her name!  She has been on the sugar plantations and she was born. Her mother got sick and died and she still works there. She only gets paid a small amount and lives in a small shack.  Slavery is over now but they still are not treated that nicely. Sugars dad was sold as a slave but never returned. Mr. and Mrs. Biehl's   help look after her. She becomes friends with Billy the masters son.  Mr. Will's, Billy's dad is not that nice to the workers but ends up changing his ways because he says chat times are changing.  Billy and sugar play together and share secrets. Billy's dad brought Chinamen. At first the workers were scared that they would be replaced. They ended up working together and helping each other. Sugar always wanted to go north but no one would take her. At the end Mr. Will's sells the plantation and she finally moved north With the Biehl's. I feel sorry for a Sugar because she lost her parents and had to work so hard her whole life. 

Headbands

We got a new game called headbands.  it is fun. it is like charades . You act out the words on the persons head band and they have to guess it before the timer runs out. We played it tonight for family game night. My sister came home from college and bought it for us. She is spending the night tonight. She goes to Albion College 

Pine knob

I went skiing at Pine knob. It was fun. I met up with my friends. This was my first lesson with West Maple ski club. I am going to go next week too. 

Ski club

I am going to take a ski lesson tomorrow. I have never skied before. I'm a little nervous and excited. My

brother is going with me and we are meeting friends there.  I have my own helmet that I got from my parents for Christmas and goggles but we will have to rent our skis. We are going to go to Pineknob.

Roblox again

I like playing Roblox. My men are running a business. It is a pizza business. They make Firestone pizza's. It reminds me of a place by our house called Bigalora. It used to be called Pizzeria Biga but now they changed the name. At the resterant you can watch them make them in the open Firestone ovens. This is making me hungry😄

Roblox

I just got Roblox two days ago.  It is really fun because you get to play other people as maps. How to play is you walk with the arrow pad or the w, a, s  and d keys. It is an online game where you play with other people.  Brother and I play together and it is fun. 

Chicago

We are going to go to Chicago for the weekend. I have a friend that I used to go to school with that move there. We are going to go and hang out with them and go with another family that we are friends with. They are my friends from West Maple elementary.  We are going to stay at a hotel near their house but hang out with them at their house. The next day we are going to go into the city and do something fun there like one of the nice museums that they have. I like going to Chicago because there is a lot of cool things to do there. 

Friday maybe halfday

Someone said that tomorrow there might be a half-day.  It is supposed to snow tonight and be really cold again tomorrow morning. The roads will be bad and it will be hard for the buses to get the kids to school on time.  It will also be bad for the kids who walk to school or have to stand at the bus stop.  I am lucky because my mom drives me to school but I still would like a half a day.  I know there would not be school if the buses look like this in the morning.

School closing

Some schools are already announcing that they will be closed tomorrow. They will be closed because of freezing weather conditions. Birmingham public schools have not said that they are closing yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will put it on the news at school will be closed tomorrow.  This is one time then I like watching the news just to see if our school shows up.  I hope school gets closed tomorrow so we can have a fun day. 

Wonder picture draft

In the book Wonder by R.J Palaico, she has written this story to treat people the way you want to be treated ( golden rule).(wonder book cover) All people should be treated well and not be judged by the way they look. This story tells how someone feels when they look different.(looking different) Auggie is the main character. He is ten years old and was homeschooled. (Bday cake with 10) His name is August but he is nicknamed Auggie. Auggie is used to the way he looks and ignores everyone's reactions because he is used to it. His family also ignores other people's reactions but his sister Via tries to protect him and she reacts. Auggie thinks Via reacts because she thinks he is different and not normal. His parents think he is extraordinary. He has a good family.(family) I like that his sister Via protects him.(sister protecting brother)

Before Auggie started real school he had a friend named Christopher. He moved to the suburbs.(Suburbs ) They still stayed friends but didn't see each other as much.  They still went to each other's birthday parties.(birthday party) When he was at Christopher's house he overheard his mom tell Christopher's mom that he was going to start going to a real school.(house) He did not want to start real school.(school) He cried to his dad and told him he didn't want to go. He thought that his dad wouldn't make him go. His mom and dad got into a fight and they decided that he should go.(parents fighting)

They set up a meeting with the principal of the school.(school)  Auggie  went and met the principal. (Principal) The principals name is Mr. Tushman. He giggled about his name. (Boy giggling) He knew that people talked about his name behind his back.  A boy named Julian gave him a tour of the school. Julian was not nice to him. He acted nice for friend of the principal and his parents. Auggie wanted to leave the school after being with Julian.

When he started going to a real school he was afraid how he would be treated. In the beginning Auggie didn't have friends and was shy.(shy boy) His face was this deformed and he was afraid how people would treat him when they would see him.(deformed face) He said " I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you are thinking it is probably worse. ". He feels very bad about himself. 

On the first day of school he was sitting alone at lunch. (School lunchroom) A girl named Summer sat next to him. She felt sorry for him. Summer was was nice to him and they became friends.  Jack is a friend of Auggie's. Jack sat in the desk next to Auggie's. (Boys in desks) After Jack got used to the way Auggie looked he thought that Auggie was cool ands smart. They became good friends.  Jack betrayed him one day and it made Auggie feel very sad and it made their friendship end for a while. Jack said he is not his real friend while he was sitting right next to him.  Jack didn't realize that Auggie was sitting next to him because he was in a Halloween mask.( Halloween mask)  Auggie ran to the bathroom and cried and he swore he would never go to school again.(Boy crying)  Auggie's sister Via convinced him to go back to school.  It made me feel sad when I read this.

When Jack and Auggie became friends again, Julian made the entire class go against Jack.  Julian is always mean to Auggie. He is a bully. (Bully) Auggie had two true friends Summer and Jack. Julian made all the other kids in class follow him and be mean to Jack and Auggie.

In the book he learns to feel better about himself.(book) The other kids get used to it.  Auggie makes friends and other kids like him for himself and not what he looks like. Auggie gets bullied and it made me feel sad. (Sad face) When he went to fifth grade nature camp he really got bullied by older kids.(nature camp) His friends stuck up for him.

Near the end of the book Auggie won an award. (Award) He didn't realize he won at first. Everyone started cheering and clapping for him. (Hands clapping)  Auggie feels like he is floating as he walks to the front of the room.(floating)When he arrives, the audience gives him a standing ovation.( audience standing ovation) Auggie finds this amazing. He feels like he is a character in Star Wars receiving an honor for blowing up the Death Star. (Boy happy) 

Auggie ends up excepting himself and becoming his own person.(person) The kids in the class end up liking him. The teachers always liked him too. (Teachers) Auggie is happy he went to the school.(happy face) He even thanks his mother.  She called him a wonder.

 This story made me feel a lot of feelings.  Sometimes you feel sad and sorry for Auggie and sometimes you feel happy when he becomes happier and feels better about himself.(sad and happy face) I liked the book a lot. (Book) The book shows how people can feel bad and sad about the way other people treat them. The book let you know that you shouldn't judge people and you should be a friend to people who look or are different. 

Case it

I am going to buy a new case it. It is a binder that can store all of your folders for all of your subjects in school.  It holds everything in one place so I don't have to have multiple folders and trips.The accordion folders that I have now always rip and things fall out I've replaced them already a couple times this year.  I think this is going to be much better and stronger.  They have a handle on them and a strap so it will be easier to carry in school. I want mine to be blue. Here is a picture.

Snow

When I woke up this morning I saw snow. There was not any snowed over Christmas but now we have it.  It was not enough to cancel school though!  I'm hoping it snows more this week so we can go sledding at the Franklin hill. We go every year with friends and have a lot of fun.  Afterword we go to the firehouse in downtown Franklin Village for hot chocolate.

Survivor

I have a griffin survivor case for my iPad. It is blue and black. It has robbers around the sides and corners. I heard it is shockproof. It is a little different for the case that I have for my iPhone. For my iPhone I have a Life proof case. I like both the cases I think they will protect my phone and iPad well.  Here is a picture of the blue and black survivor case for iPad.

Tree down

We took our tree and Xmas decorations down today. We have to wait another year to see them. I like it with the decorations. We packed them away. The house looks more empty. I like our tree. 

Happy New Year!

We went to my Aunt Kim's last night to bring in the New Year. Today they are coming here. We each got to pick our favorite food for dinner tonight. I picked shrimp and my brother picked steak. My parents and Aunt Kim and Uncle Rick are having lobster tail and steak. Happy 2015!
